Also, the program is the result of the bilateral education contract between the Hungarian government and the governments of the students’ countries.
Currently, the scholarship opportunity can be accessed in around seventy (70) countries with over five thousand foreign students getting selected every year.
The range of courses offered by the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program is at least 500. These spans all the degrees a student can hope to attain in University, and they are all fully funded.
Since the start of the program in 2013, the number of beneficiaries has kept increasing simultaneously with the degrees and courses offered through the scholarship.
It can also prove to be a very competitive program because it awards only about one-third of the total number of scholarship applicants.

The countries in a bilateral education contract with the Hungarian Government can be able to send students for the scholarship program.

Benefits of the Scholarship
- The program covers students’ tuition fee
- It pays monthly stipends such as EUR 120 for every month until the student is through with his/her studies
- Covers the costs/lent of accommodation by providing free dormitories. The program also pays HUF 40 000 every month for students who live outside of the dormitories.
Although this may not be enough to pay for the full rent, it significantly subsidizes it.
It also provides health insurance of approximately EUR 275 for each student every year.
